OK , I finally got around to cutting my airbox and I should have done it from day one. A very noticable increase in torque , but the huge induction sound is awsome. Anyone who has not tried this should do it
now.

I love that induction noise :) I was thinking about cutting a piece of mine out from underneath the box so that it -looks- legal :) I'll wait till after the roadworthy though.

By the way, on the oil-air separator, there is a little tube that comes off the bottom of it that I guess should have a hose on it.. where does it go?

To the sump.

if its right on the bottom, thats the drain back to the sump, probably pretty important if you want to avoid a mess! :)

Hmm.. I seem to have a very small oil leak (better than the 8 or 9 BIG oil leaks I had before!).. wonder if that's the culprit? Where about on the sump?

Next to where the dip stick goes in the sump.

i have a cut air can now.. i still have my original un-cut can just incase..
i cant really tell if there is more torque or not, nor can i tell if it revs more easily.. and finally there is NO induction noise.. thinking about putting my uncut aircan back in..

I cut mine on the weekend too.
The only difference I noticed is that it now sounds like i have an exhaust pipe under my bonnet, which echoes all around in there, which gives the engine a nice growl. Can't tell if the car goes any faster. Maybe it does. It doesn't go any slower.
Is it worth doing? Probably not, as it gives you one more thing to get defected by John Law for..
