How to remove and reapply placard sticker

I want to remove a sticker from the door jamb or a later model car and stick it on a JA. (Allows you legally go to 16" wheels on an early starion)

Is that easy enough to do so the sticker doesn't look like it's ever been off the car?

Usually when you pull a sticker with a metal film (I'm assuming it has that in it) it gets the lines in it as the adhesive lets go.

Has anyone pulled one of these off without it looking like crap?

Or is there a product I can use so the silver stuff on the sticker doesnt come apart or show the lines

Unless you use something like a scraper to take it of and then glue it on good and proper. Why not take a really good photo and take it down to a sticker place and get one laser cut up?

I think the scraper would probably yield the same result.

That's an idea I hadn't thought of, getting one made up.

There's been lots of bare shell resprays on here, what do you guys do?

Or do you just leave them off?

Ultimately I'd really just like to take it from one car and apply it to the other. It's just sitting there all pretty looking, waiting to be removed...

There's always the extreme.... cut it out and weld it into the starion :D
Just make sure you cut enough around it so as not to damage the sticker :beer

correct me if i'm wrong but ja had 14's standard and you can go 2" bigger legally .. so that includes 16" rims

Make your own - since most authorities have never seen a Starion they would never know - then you can put whatever you want on it.

Should duplicate some JB/D ones for us JA owners :) means the FR17s are within the 2" limit that way!

best way to remove old stickers is a hair dryer to soften up the glue, then carefully use a brand new razor blade to peel it back. then probably spray glue the back of it i suppose....
