i was being a good man to my mistress ( staz ) and as i was checking the air filter i tore it off the turbo.

thinking all i had to do was nip around the block to get a new piece or make a new piece i started the car and nursed it to where i had to go. the place didn't have what i needed so on to the next place,

so on and so forth until i found that the car was running fine on and off boost
no smoke no nothing and yet the intake pipe is hanging on to the turbo by the skin of a tooth... what the???

and can i buy a new turbo to air box pipe from someone?

Sorry Benny, not in this lifetime. Well, not a new one anyway.

And 2nd hand ones will need bullion bars changing hands first.

Alspos has a fix on his website. When I find the link I'll stick it up here.

It used to be: http://members.ozemail.com.au/~gillyfish

Either the site is down or he's killed it off, or hasn't paid his provider or something...

Drop him a private msg...

Some rare occasions Turbo Cordias run fine with the AFM completely disconnected. Maybe your stazz is the same.

That website is long dead......

Anyway, a recap.

Piece of 2" mild steel exhaust.
Couple of clamps.
A piece of 50mm (double check the size) rubber or silicone elbow. I used an old radiator hose and so far it has held up brilliantly. A Silicone elbow should work also, but may be a bit harder to get onto the turbo inlet. The rubber one was quite easy.

The original inlet has a return hole from the emissions can. Hence the hole in the new joiner pipe. Line the hole up when you put it all together.

Carefully cut the inlet hose around one of the ribs.
Clamp the pipe inside the inlet hose. Don't do the clamp up too hard as you will wreck the rubber inlet hose by squashing it.

Installed in engine bay.

Al,
You might want to put this up as a sticky. Ditto for the strut brace.

You got any other engine bay photos of that interesting heat exchanger type setup thing?

well i found a guy going out of business up here in glady and IF he has one he's letting me get 2 staz seats ( shot but still better nick than mine ) and the intake hose for $110

though there is still the fuel leak problem.. who has non-leaky injectors ( LOL!!) for sale??

oh and i'm currently running with the afm disconnected and it runs better than before lmao .. will re-connect on friday if old mate has the hose.

( the afm is disconnected atm as i have run a dodgied up an intake pipe straight to an air filter using what i had here.. but will do the above fix if old mate doesn't come through )[/u]

Really? Because its exactly like the one on my JA. Just with an extra little nipple for something. Which can be plugged up or hooked up to a catch can or something.
