power steering seal kit

Post by Bitza »

Hi All,
Just bought another power steering DRAG, just wondering if there is a seal kit available?

Looked OK from the wreckers, small leak at the steering end none on the bottom.

I have striped it down needle bearings OK but I would like to replace the bottom and top seals.

Any ideas?

The oil seals are only availaible as genuine mitsubishi parts, BSC, SKF and CBC can't match them, as they are an odd size however mitsubishi can get them for a rediculous $28.50 each or there abouts.

Part is 22N and is the one to look at if your power steering box leaks:

BUMP!!!

Just wanted to ask, has anyone found out more about seals for these kits? Apparently my steering box is leaking. I don't know where abouts yet, but I will check it out once I get my car back. Cheers.

will have to check it out. So you don't have to fully reseal these units? You can just replace either of those two seals? I will try and find out which end it is leaking from tomorrow. Cheers.

I replaced all seals and o-rings in my box for about $50. Took a few trips to bearing shops (plural) and hydraulic supplies, but it's all available. The top seal N22 I compromised and bought one slightly narrower, but does the job.
StarionVR4 said something about a seal kit from the US.
