Alternator on way out... #UPDATED ...its gone

My alternator is about to give out..

noticed indicators not flashing, stereo tunring off, dim lights ect ect. it has a new battery.

what are my options from here and whats the chances of me finding a replacement alternator??

Make sure it actually is the alternator dying! The belt could just not be tight enough! I had this problem a while back, trust me, I've changed Alternators three times!

Get it tested :D

car just died on me! would you believe it happened as i was turning into my street! haha whats the chance?

if it is the alternator...is it hard to get hold of one or shud i get mine reco'd?

chunkhead ## also still waiting on claim to settle so i'll get back to you asap reg the bumper.

Symptoms are indicative of low voltage - but that could be due to 20-year old wiring.

Have you checked your grounds, and the main set of fusible links?
Starion nutter since 1988...

Yeah had the same problem last winter I was sure it was alternator but was the fusible links. Both my cars have had problems with these lately, check that 1st because alternator can be a pita to remove. (with electric fans)

If you do need a new alternator, a magna alternator is a much cheaper fix - read this:

Ebay has them....

as for reco, i was told with a jap one lookin at $450 or so... bosch was cheaper however
