Head question

Would one of you gents be kind enough to give me a casting number or part number to the Head on the 2.0 staz motor so common in Australia.

I have a fellow that claims to have found a Aussie staz turbo motor in a junk yard Mighty Max (l200). He is willing to sell me the head but does not have the Turbo valve cover. I'm a little weary about a purchase without knowing for sure.

Thanks,
Kane

Hey man
Will have a look later this evening and get it for ya. I saw that post on SQC guy reckons its a 3 valve per cylinder head which would make it a DASH one, even rarer!!

The turbo heads have a 'T' cast into the rear. From memory it is about 1" high and is a raised letter (almost like a bead of weld).
I don't know about the dash head.

Just like the 2.6 head steer clear of jet valves. Don't confuse this turd as a dash head. The dash head has two identical sized inlet valves.

I'm almost certain that the dash has 2 different size inlet valves
The smaller one opens all the time & the larger one is engaged by a solenoid at the back of the head at app 1700 rpm

That's what I thought too.

It's got jet valves and is not a DASH head. Do you have a pic of the "T" on the head. The guy says there aren't many markings on it. Here are some pics of what he has.

This engine was found in a truck here in the US. I just worry that the head has been swapped and only the turbo short block was used. I've got a non-turbo g63b head already.

What's the difference between a turbo head and a NON turbo head?

When my original head cracked a couple years back I replaced it with a head out of a '92 SpaceWagon and used my original cam and lifters (the head came with hydrolic lifters)

The only difference i could find was a slightly different cumbustion chamber
the 92 head has a much smoother chamber with a kind of dent near the sparkplug.

It's still on the car today tough it has not seen much use lately.

Cam and Valves. There are no turbo cams available for the 2.0 SOHC here in the states. I do believe someone makes stainless valves though.

Cams for 2l also hard to come by here in AUS, manufacturer stopped making blanks to grind, so mainly only stage 2 regrinds are availiable.

Any markings on the cam to identify if it is actually a turbo cam?
