After changing my direction with the car more towards track days and drifting i have decided that im going to upgrade the radiator.After a little bit of googling i couldn't find any upgraded radiators for a Starion (surprise surprise)So i have decided that im sick and tired of there being no off the shelf parts and im going to do something about it.I have contacted a radiator company that is based in China about making custom alloy radiators for the Starion and he has agreed to make them if i supply the drawings as he cannot locate any.The 1st prototype will be a 56mm 2 core type and will be going into my car once its made.I have also seen some of this manufacturers radiators for different cars and have to say that the quality is not 100% and i have made him aware of this and he is willing to work with me to get this fixed.I can also get some thermo fan brackets welded on the back so we can use a common brand aftermarket type.The reason i am using a chinese manufacturer is because of cost as i have to fund the prototype and also so that if i do a group buy later the price will be alot less for everyone (almost half price of a pwr or similar).As this is just the development stage i was after any drawings or technical information about a standard starion radiator that anyone may have. :beer

Id be interested in this. I dont have any technical drawings. But i do have a Starion radiator removed from a car i can get all the measurements from if u want. Like where certain things are placed on the radiator.

Thanks man but i have mine out aswell. :D Its just that i havn't done any tech drawing since i left high school and i have forgotten how to use autocad.I will keep you informed if your interested as im working on a brake package aswell but one thing at a time.

I know how to use autocad... older version though, 2002 Lite.

Sounds like a great idea. Found the same problem (not available).
I've had to have my spare one checked and pressure tested to buggery. The radiator guys reckong it'll b fine, but in my mind it's still only in fair condition...

I have looked at this radiator but the conversion to australian $ and shipping would be to expensive for us and we may as well get a custom one made here by a reputable radiator company.

Once the guru gets back to me with some drawings ill be full steam ahead :D

something that is worth a look is what I've been running in the sigma also a track car
I used a aly commodore rad there is a little plumbing to do as the outlets were on the wrong sides and plastic header tanks were to hard to change
this rad was easy to fit in the sigma so it would be the same in a staz ,the engine bays being the same width

brand new it cost $130

however apart from some plumbing the rad works quite well and the engine sits on the thermostat no matter the what the day temp is or how hard it gets pushed and I know the 2.6 is N/A but as the comp and revs have gone up with performance so did the heat produced
I was getting some issues with the stock sigma rad which are smaller than the staz
I still intend on doing a turbo to IPRA rules and beleve the same rad will cut it

anyway is I said its worth a look
