How To Change The Cam Belt.. Help

Post by oped »

Hey guys,

I am wondering if someone could tell me exactly how to change a cam belt, as mine is fucked and I dont have the cash to get it done professionally...

Also if anyone is selling a cam belt, give me prices...

Or is there another one of a different car which fits JA Starions perfectly

Thanks in advance guys.

FFS buy a new one. Why replace a dead belt with a worn belt (if SIRGSR's is worn, sorry for shooting your sale)

Set the crank at TDC.

Take the two plastic covers off the front of the engine. This will mean you also need to pull off PS pump, belts, crank pulley etc.

Line up all the marks as per the manual.

Put it all back together.

My JA has perfect motor - FMIC - forgies - high flow head but...rusted front guards and keyed on every panel. Time to get serious or time to take it to the tip.

A new belt is about $30 from memory.

If you can't afford that then you can't afford fuel to put in the thing.

Plus having to do the job twice.
