what are my options to fit pistion with 22mm gugien pins onto 21mm conrods
the problem is that i have bought acl race series pistions and apparently they are late model 4g63, and they don't make ones for starions according to repco

Hey man
If u take ur rods to a machine shop they should be able to bore out ur rods pin ends to 22mm. If ur using standard rods would be a gd idea to get them prepped too, shot peening is always a gd idea for standard rods.

4g63 vr4 rods should work, alot stronger than stock too.

What about a late set of rods... (with 22mm gudgeon pins already there)
eagle A$850 a set?

Souren's right acl race series pistons only come in the 22mm pin. As for rod options what about secondhand evo 4 onwards rods as they are 22mm.

that makes no sense acl do 21 mm pin non forged and i am sure i have seen 21mm pin race series 4 sale. But maybe i am wrong think it is stupid though as hole is smaller 4 21 so if u made them with 21mm pin enlarging the hole to 22mm wouldnt be a problem

I know a few local lads that have had 21mm rods
bored to 22mm

and it was like $16.50 per rod to do them
how ever you may as well have your pistons
floated while your at it, maybe $30.00 extra (per rod)

Cheers:Phil.

Dont buy race pistons and re-use the chop stick rods if you can get Eagle Rods cheap. From memory we sold them at Top Racing for about $650

Just for interests sake, Starion 4g63 rods (and Cordia 4g62) are the
same as vr4 rods up to a certain engine build number. After that they
are different but I dont know what that difference is. This suggests to
me that there is no point changing to dohc 4g63 rods as they are probably
the same thing anyway. I know this for a fact because I cross referenced
them from a Mitsubishi parts microfische at my old work and they have
the same part number.

4G63 generation 1 (up to sometime in late 92) had 21mm gudgeons. generation 2 had 22mm. that goes for turbo and non turbo, best bet yes is the eagle rods as they are cheap and they're good. alter standard rods at your own peril!
