Hi guys, I was looking at a stazza steering box
and thinking that perhaps I might just drill a few
by pass holes in the assist block (internally) so
that there is no hydrolic feedback or resistance,

the question is would that then give me a none
power assisted steering ????
sound right to me!!.

WHY ???

Im sick of the things leaking and gee give the things
a few more degrees caster and the steering wheel
would be to the center quick smart ay ????

cheers:Phil.

hi Cookiemonster the belt is off and
has been for 6 months ...(heavy man)...
Im asking if the hydrolic ressistance
was taken out off the steering box
weather that would be better than
putting a gn sigma box none assist ???

oh and of cause take the pump off
and throw it ???

Cheers:Phil.

tri26t, replace your power steering with a late model sigma or scorpion manual box, you'll have to use the steering column aswell, the indicator switch will interchance, but you might want to leave the ignition as you can't remove it, remove the sigma pitmint arm and fit the starion one. And the best thing about this conversion is no more power steering leaks, every thing just bolts straight in

Go to the gym? :) It's not that heavy.. the only time I put the power steer belt on my car was when I sold it.

my starion is non power steer from factory. I guess from this post that this is quite rare and the chances of finding bits from one like mine to convert yours are not high?
Its a pity I'm not at home to have a look for some serial/part numbers for you.
