Wide body question

Post by MelbStazz »

I've managed to pick up some wide body guards ( through work), and i was wondering if the ja front bar fits up to them? or do i have to get the jb-jd front bar? Any help would be appreciated as i have ordered the parts less the front bar.
The guys at work are trying to talk me into doing the wide body rear quarters as well, after seeing all of the work that LXS went to i dont't know if it's worth it? Mind you they're panel beaters and love a challenge! LOL
I've seen the guards and they're top quality, i think that i might need the sill skirt as well ( side flare/lwr spoiler), not too mention the wide body lower spoiler. Hmm.....

By the way the sill skirt is steel. Not bolt on. If you like a challenge! LxS you better help this guy!
You have to do the rear if you do the front otherwise it will look stupid :(

Which means you have to do the whole thing :?
Did you order these parts locally???

Nah it would be Full Sik with a sub woofer in Him! rofl . I work in a panel shop so any metal work that needs to be done to the car will be done professionally. I got the guards locally through some contacts at work, i was actually quite suprised that i could get them! well i did and i should have them in my hot little hands shortly.
There are a few of the panel beaters at work very keen to do the work on the car, i've seen 1st hand all of the work that they're capable of. At the moment they are putting new quarters on a GT4 celica. I said to them "it's a pratice run for the stazz!" Schweeet. I was thinking of repainting the car anywho, so i guess that's kinda decided if i go with the wide quarters.
Is it possible to source the quarters locally along with all the bits and pieces that go along with it? or should i source some from the states or Japan? Hmmm, i think that i bit off more than i can chew. But i'm up for a challenge.

thanks for the vote of support cam, at the moment i'm working a 58hr week and there is little time for the beastie. so i guess that it will have to be done in bits and pieces and not all at once. i was just lucky that i could get the guards at a decent price  me thinks that the rears are going to be a whole new story.

Hey Melbstazz, if you need to ask anything, i'd be more than happy to help..I wish i had someone to kinda step me through it :?

Anyways if you only got the fronts and front bar this is what it looks like..
Image

I mean it does look a bit wonkey but each to their own? You could get some mini side skirt made to just join up to the guard if need be?

More pictures on my site if you wanna look..

ok, ok , ok. :D
i do need to do something about the back. I think that the wide body quarters would look the part. i was even thinking along the same lines as LXS to do a custom sill skirt into a rear flare ( maybe modify a early model Celica/Supra). :x nah, i think i will do it properly.
I've owned/rebuilt a LX SS torana and that had the flares on it, looked mighty tuff for its day!
After looking at LXS website ( kick ass btw ), i don't mind the look of the wide front on the flat back ( for the time being). Well at least until i can source some rear quarters
I guess if i have to get the quarters from the states i can get my carbon bonnet at the same time!
 Hmmm
