Boost Gauge?

I seek for any help for this problem. I really dont know what boost the starion 4g63 sohc 180bhp must produce. u know on the boost meter there are -0.5, 0 , 0.5 and 1 bars. when I accelerate at 5500 rpm for instance or 6000 the boost goes only to 0.5 and no more. I wonder what is the reason not to be able to reach 1 bar. I made strong aluminium air hose connections not to lose boost. And I wonder if the turbine cant produce more (it is with external wastegate), can i make it somehow to boost more for instance 0.7 or 1 bar???, i dont have boost controller. 10x a lot cause my starion now seems to be much slower than the fabric indexes

Depending on the turbo you are running, the standard turbo will only pull around 7-8psi standard. If you want more than this you will have to fit a boost controller.

Yeah, 7 psi is .5 bar, which is standard boost for starion, you can goto about 10 psi which is just before the end of the green line on boost gauge.

I wonder what is then the boost of the 2.6 liter engine?, mine 2.0 with 7 psi
produces 180 bhp and the bigger 2.6 liter engine also produces 180hp even some engines with less power??

yea the 2.6 doesn't produce anymore power than the 2.0 because it has to run all the american emisions gear.

188hp/234tq@10.5psi for USDM 1988-1989's. The only thing emissions related that robs power is the shitty stock exhaust with two catalytic convertors.. It's not like the old V8's of the 80's that had "smog pumps" or anything else belt driven..

I believe the european 2.6's were only rated at like 155hp though..
