dash 2 Vs DOHC.wanting to know 1st are dash & DOHC turbo pistons the samecrowns as non turbo eg;-is the lower comp in the pistons or head. Will dash head run with std non turbo block (std non turbo compression ratio). Are DOHC turbo & non turbo heads the same. What i've done is stuck a 4g64 in my L200 ute (was 4g54 ),a dash eng in the shed & know a bit about the interchangeabitity .Do I go 12v 16v turbo or non-turbo.The 64 bore is 86.5 (60thou)ova std 63 so should have no probs gett'n pistons, but stroke longer thus torque not revs.more basic info mite settle my brain drain.CHEERS

The compression is in the pistons.
It will run on a std non turbo block but just different compression.
DOHC non-turbo and turbo heads are almost the same, I think the only different might be in the cams, springs and inlet/exhuast ports.
Youy can choose what ever you think is best, just remeber the comprssion ratio will change and with a turbo engine running high compression and bored, you should stick with JE 8.5:1 pistons and forget about the Weisco 8.9:1 set.
