Exhaust manifold cracks

I was always under the impression that Mitsubishi fixed the exhaust manifold crack problem with the release of the JB. Is this correct or is it still a prob with later manifolds as well?? :beer

fix is simple, find the spot on the collector where they normally crack and drill a 15mm or so hole, tap a thread and screw in a mild steal plug, ryco hydraulics have them, or any hydraulic and mining suppliers. my cordia went for 2 1/2 years, with a glowing white manifold. not one crack.

don’t ask how it works, I know how but cant explain it. or cant be bothered. or don’t have time.... or something.

ps, this still dosent answer u'r question..

crack whores :) , mines wrapped and glows, but no cracks yet. Untill it hits the concrete floor when I replace it with something that "works"

My JA had a crack in the manifold from day one, take it off and grind a big "V" section in the crack, heat the whole manifold up to cherry red with an OXY, then have your welder ready with a Stainless steel arc rod. And weld it up.
It will last about a year, JB's have the same problem. But late model JB's and JD's have a different casting for the manifold, they have a thicker section right wear it usualy cracks.
