I have 12psi boost cut, I could disable it, but don't want my old TC05 pushing too hard.
I suffer boost creep horribly, even just revving the motor I can hear the very audible turbo spool and psst noise from the plumback BOV, its getting worse with age. If I stay in gear for too long with the accelerator on full it cuts. This has given me a top speed of 150 and no sir, I don't like it!
Since the car is stock standard 8 valve, I imagine its just the old wastegate not openning properly. Can anyone give me a quick idea about the difficulty involved in repairing this, and a quick guide from somebody who has done so before? Most I can work out on my own, but any hints tricks, dont touch this or this comments would be great.
Money isn't huge and I have lots of things to repair, so would prefer to do this on my own in the weekend.

or, if it is like my brothers silvia just weld the wastegate open and watch as the boost still hits 20psi @ 3000rpm (we have been trying to stop this for months.. still no joy. stupid nissan)
ping-ping-ping-ping da ping-ping-PSSSSSSHHHHHHHTTTTT-PING!!
OR, go to chemist and get big horse syringe, hook up to waste gate and push the syringe in, hold it there and after a minute or so the wastegate should still be open. no good for checking the spring but gives u an idea about the diafram <- how u spell that?. check the hose isn’t cracked and leaking, bugger it, just replace the hose anyway. make sure u can pull the hose off at the wastegate end and u can blow air back into the manifold without much restriction.
if this still dosent work pull the wastegate out, take it to u'r local fruit & veg shop and check the spring on there roof mount scales. they wont like this much but if u tell them its a claymore mine and you are defuseing it they will normaly leave you alone. (this does work, but they call the cops)
if still no good, take a brick and throw it through u'r neibours car windscreen, this will scare the shit out of your car and make it behave.

Ok while I'm at it I'll dress like a penguin and dance
But seriously, air hose running from airbox to an electric sensor on the firewall (which leads to two other pipes), the pipe was almost fallen off, so hoping thats it. Put new battery in, but terminals need to be reshaped a little and it got dark. So find out tomorrow.
On another note, the company I work for is shutting down, and I lost my job with no notice, and they have no money to pay me, so I'm probably going to lose the Starion anyway if I can't find a job soon as I'm still paying its $1500 repair bill off.

hahaha I know the director personally, so probably not, but I'll ask him he might just say yeah sweet as. Strange but likely.
Since he has to give two weeks notice, he can write the equipment off as payment.
Depends on whether he goes bankrupt, or attempts to continue business with himself and one other.
