get a dash of another car (easy way out), try lubricating the current odometer maybe?

If the speedo is accurate but not the odometer, then best to get a new dash. If speedo is out too then your speedo cable may need to be oiled etc etc

A car with low Km's is better than one with high Km's. So why bother?

because of the age legally it doesnt have to work does it??
i wouldnt really worry about it unless u wanna try and tell the buyers its done say 200,000 k's instead of the true 330,000 k's * and even if its not working people probably wont watch the odometer while they are test driving it....

* please note actual figures may be different to those stated rofl

I think its more of a case of the new owner noticing it, and getting angry about the false k's on the clock.

Id ring an auto-elecy and see if they are able to help. I havent wound back an odo before, or repaired one, so Im not sure how to actually dismantle it to find the problem.

Oh and swapping the dash cluster with a replacement is not hard. Its just a couple of screws and some plugs on the back + speedo cable. Its just a case of finding a dash cluster 2nd hand that looks ok and has similar k's on it.

I'd use it as a selling point.
