Is a turbocharger from a Cordia easy to fit to a Starion? Has anyone actually done this?

I was led to beleive the Japanese Starion's turbo, WAS a Cordia turbo.
It made me sad.

Code: Select all
if(japaneseStarion.Turbo == cordia.Turbo)
{
spidersWeb.Cry();
}

cordia turbo

yes cordia turbo will fit, it has much smaller turbine so spools very very quick, just replace the compressor and cover with a starion wheel and hey presto, bloody good turbo up to 4500-4700RPM, full boost at 1800RPM, not for the faint hearted, only problem is it resticts exhaust flow up high above 4700RPM & turbo runs hot, :beer

StarionVR4 - Are you talking about a TC-05?
A cordia TC-06 will bolt on to the exhaust manifold no problem, however the dump pipe wont bolt up, i think the wastegate actuator mounts on the comp housing are different, But both the exhaust wheel and the comp wheel are the same as starion, so you can put a starion exhaust housing and comp housing on if you want.

Fuel has the right of it on the TC06 side of things, But the comp housing will point a different direction aswell.

i turned the TC-05 from the widebody into a TC-06. i had to machine the recces for the comp wheel (1mm) so the comp housing would fit over it, then had to machine the collar on the shaft down by 1mm to make the shaft long enough and to keep the thing ballanced. then had to drill out the threads in the exhaust housing coz the staz can only use studs in the exhaust manifold. then had to put the O2 and temp sensor into a catless dump pipe, coz i hate cats. simple :?

If you retained the stock TC/TD05 exhaust end it is WAY too small for the 2.6.

I was under the impression that scum's widebody is a Japanese G63.

Yes, my old starion had a TC-06 from a cordia.
P.S Nice burnouts at the nats. :)

yes, G63 with a POS TC-05!! AAARRRGGGHHH!!! now a TC-06 :D
and mrb1 thats why i had to drill the exhaust housing, coz its a cordia TC-06 unit. the cordia has bolts that run through the manifold and thread into its low mount turbo, but the starion has studs due to the high mount thing and the fact that you cant reach under the exhaust to put bolts in.
