Hi i was looking at putting new shocks and springs into my starion, i've heard that shocks are hard to get for the starion, one option i've been told is modified konis will fit at 1200 a set, i was looking for a cheaper option, shocks and springs fitted for around 1500, does anyone have any recommendations. Thanks

Pedders have a listing for KYB gas dampers for the front.
I have them in my staz, they work very well, in conjunction with the lowered kings springs.

Hi, I have a Sigma with Starion front suspension. I fitted Lovells all round. Biggest problem is that you can only lower 30mm if you still want your springs to be captive, which is a good idea if you dont want your car to be defected. After lowering I stood back, looked at the Sigma and thought, well that was a waste of money. I went back to the local suspension man for some options on lowering the car a bit further. This is what we did. Skyline strut inserts are 40mm shorter than Starion. We cut 40mm from the Starion struts and installed the new inserts. This will allow an additional 40mm to be cut from the springs. I didnt go the full 40mm, probably 35mm which ment that the car is lowered by 65mm ,with captive springs. With this setup ,and KYB inserts the front is VERY firm. Only trouble is rather strong understeer, which I hope to counteract with a bigger rear stabilizer shortly. The Skyline inserts are a straight bolt-up fit. No modifications required:D

the rear struts have been modified to accept Koni adjustable dampers.
ie, lowered spring platform, new clamp nut etc.

Thanks merlin for your replies, do you have the model numbers for the parts that you used for the front and rears? Sigmaproject did you only do the front suspension, if thats the case it would explain the understeer. Starionchef - can you pm me for more details of these bolt on options.
