MPI Q's

Having read all the numerous topics on the forum regarding MPI setups there are a few questions that I need answered.

When fitting the newly cut and shut Sonata manifold the thermostat housing is on the oppisite end to that of the standard manifold which places it where the heater assembly would normally be. What is normally done with regards to the position of the themostat and the corrosponding radiator hose? And where does the heater assembly plumb to?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Matt.

my understanding is that you could either get it moved to the opposite end which is a popular choice, or go the cheaper path and route the cable around the manifold without changing its position.

A TN magna thermostat housing is what you need... Go grab one from a wreckers for $5... oh and try and get one with a long hose to suit.

It will all make sense when you stick it ont the sonata manifold. It is angled up (so it will clear the fuel rail and injectors) and point directly towards the front of the car...

Heater plumbing can stay where it is. It will just squeeze around the thermostat housing. (Takes a good firm bend & push to get the pipes onto the outlets.)

You will need a piece of pipe probably 2cms in diameter and about 30cms length. (Get stainless steel to make it look good.) This goes between the thermo housing and the top hose on the rad.

Send me your e-mail addy and I will send you a pic of my setup.
