Every car has that.
To cut things short, its an exhaust warning. As far as I know it comes on when the exhaust temp is high - usually caused by fuel not burning properly - everytime that light has come on for me - it has been a simple case of fitting new spark plugs and leads - it can be caused by other things such as coil etc but generally plugs and leads do the trick.
I've found that my cars have been quite sluggish and hard to drive by the stage that light comes on. So you may be in for a nice suprise when its fixed (power wise).

LOL
Put the poor lad out of his misery, SpidersWeb!
It's probably the low washer reservoir level warning light.
Fill up your washer reservoirs and see if the light goes out.

mmm, i actually thought "spiders web" was right....
i have the washer light in my staz' (which is on all the time) plus i have one that looks like a muffler.... in my old integra it came on when i chopped out my cat'... and didnt go out untill we welded the sensor back onto the pipe....

Yeah I thought I was right too, because when that light came up on my Integra and Galant - plugs and leads fixed it - both cars also made big burning smells.
Only reason I agreed with JPC was according to the wiring diagram - there was no muffler sensor - but I guess the diagram is not acurate for every Staz.
The newbie will know anyway, if the car uses more gas than it should and drives like dick - then plugs, leads and maybe a coil if need be :)

My understanding was completely different.
I thought it was a CAT over temperature light, this would indicate that the cat had been blocked and hence over heating.
Hey Im only a kiwi so dont hold me to it.

my Starion doesn't have a cat factory, but it does have that light.
Plugs and leads definately fixed it in the past on the Honda and Galant.

that sort of goes with my theory... my 'tegs light only came on when we 'accidently' removed the cat....
do starions have a cat?

I can't remember exactly what the light looked like, but i know my jap import GSR III used to have a warning light on the dash because the o2 sensor was disconnected.

Mine is jap and has a single muffler (not factory but not new either, its the same sexy rust colour as everything else), and one big resonator. No cat to be found. It does have EGR and MCA-JET tho.
