Intercooling JA without ECU alteration ???

Does anyone know if intercooling can be effective without changing the ECU or at least changing the PROM in the ECU ??? To me , it makes sense that the instruction set on the existing ECU would not be expecting the air to be soo cool going into the throttle body , so fuel mapping would not match the cooler air. Any thoughts ???

I haven't heard of anyone needing to change the ECU over when intercooling... as far as I know, you can do a bunch of minor mods (IC/Boost/Exhaust etc) and the standard ECU will still allow for the changes and work fine.

Nope, no need to change ecu, just intercool it and enjoy the extra power :)

intercooling can also help to add (relatively safely) more boost! even more power :P

:D Hi powerslave any intercooling over 10psi is beneficial regardless what
ECU you are using

Thanx guys. I've been reading around the traps that other people have been stealing the bobweights from a factory intercooled starion. Obviously this would be like re-graphing the distributor to some extent. From the resopnse I've got , it seems this is not necessary. Thanks again guys.

removing weights would only limit total centrifugal advance = less power,if my memory serves.
