Has anybody used the coil mentioned in 1320ft's post with part numbers?
IGC-133 PREMIERE AUTO TRADE IGNITION COIL (T TYPE)
I've searched various posts here and there's no real answer to upgrading the coil and getting away from an oil filled one. I eventually want to multipoint my car, would be nice to have a strong spark source and not upgrade twice. There was mention about the tacho not working due to the different waveform a transformer coil like this produces. Also, will the stock ignitor fire a coil like this off without dying in the process? Can anyone confirm or deny?
Obviously I would have to chop the plug off this one and muck around with multiple wires on + and - terminals, but once it's chopped up it would be a bit hard to return it if tacho didn't work etc.
Thanks
