After the starion has been sitting around for 5 months, would the fuel in there be too old?

octane rating diminishes over time. I wouldn't use that fuel personally. It's probably better suited to a lawn mower or mazda or something :)

It'll be fine depending on how "on-edge" the tune is. Cruise & use half a tank and fill up with the good stuff. 5 months is nothing....
Mine sat for 18 months with a full tank and started first click.

As long as your not on boost of heavy load, it should be ok
but if you want to be super safe you can drain it

Thanks, I just ended filling it up to the top as it ran fine on the old fuel with a quarter of a tank left. Was good to drive the starion after having it sit there for almost half a year.

Widey Mamun, gsr is a long way from being drive-able.

Hummm.........I have 7 year old fuel in my cordia and it kicks over no probs....mind you this is only for idle (with no load) and it runs fine.

you don't need high octane to idle ;)
