I want to change my gearbox and diff oil out in my GSR-V as I don't know if the previous owner has. Is there a certain thickness of oil I should use and is there a difference in thickness between the gearbox and the diff? I'm unsure if it has a LSD in it or not.

In my LSD I have Castrol LSX-90. You can use this oil if it's open also. Gearbox is Valvoline Duragear 75W-85. I'm sure the shop will also be able to recommend also.
To check if you have an LSD, jack up the rear wheels so they're off the ground and turn one of them by hand. if the other wheel turns in the opposite direction, open diff, if it turns the same way, you have an LSD.

I have bought but not filled with yet:
Motul 90PA SAE90 for LSDs (2litres)
Petronas 75W-85 GL4 for transmissions (3litres)
From what I have read its important to not use GL5 as some of the additives can attack the brass or bronze (?) parts of Mitsubishi transmissions over time.

I don't recommend valvoline gear oil, they are a bit light on with the additives. I use Fuchs at work & have found it really good!
