Boost gauge fitment

Could anyone tell me if it is possible for me to cut the green backing on the dash so I can cut the boost gauge out and fit an aftermarket one in, then solder the wires to bridge the gaps that I cut into the green backing stuff.

The reason for all this drama is that I am running 30 pounds of boost :D and the boost gauge I have in the console is inconvienent when driving because I like looking at my dash and having to look down aaaallllllll that way to the boost gauge takes to long.

I am a firm believer in that too much power is still not enough! LOL

Thank you very much 1320ft and TOMSUN, them pictures really say yes you can.

I got a soldering iron somewhere and a roll of solder so I will give that a go.
I really appreciate help with my car because I know nothing and learn everything that I want to know. Should probably point out that I have been known for stuffing a few things up.
