My beater has recommended that I not fit it permanently and to be able to remove it for ease of repair in future so can anyone advise the best fasteners to use as don't want to use self tappers.

Dzus fasteners maybe? Some motorsport places sell them but so do bolt/industrial suppliers.

Measure the thickness of the two pieces that fit together. The catalogue will tell you what one to order and the clip for the back side.

Or even these, they are a bit smaller.

while I did mention it as a joke, you CAN use cable ties if you don't mind the look of it - punch some strategically placed holes (6 or 8 should do the trick if placed right) in and fit metal rings to them so that you can tighten up the cable ties without worrying about the friction cutting through the front bar.
Need to take the bar off in a hurry? All you need in your pit tool box are cutters and extra cable ties - which I assume you would have anyway!

This is the Advanced Spoiler yes?
I just screwed it in place both up under the bumper and in the wheel-arch. Be very careful to pull the 'wings' in tight when screwing from the wheel-arch to minimise the gap to the front guard.
I also welded a couple of tabs on the bumper reinforcing under the skin, otherwise the screws had nothing to bite into (just the urethane & foam). No need for fancy fasteners or anything. How often did you remove the old spoiler? Not much I'd reckon, so don't go to any fancy lengths for no real reason.
Good show old boy!

Thanks for the tip Anthony. Not planning on having to remove the spoiler again any time soon but s##t happens when you least expect :(
Was thinking that I may be able to use the bar cover fixing bolts to attach? a bracket to get a better fixing.
When are you likely to be home again?
I assume you have seen the pics as to why I have a new spoiler.
