I decided it was best to respray a replacement...... and fit all the original bits... came up a treat
I had no choice really as the glass broke :(

Pretty sure JJH had a solution, but whether he documented on here or not is another story!

I tried with mine & gave up.

It wasnt the glass that worried me, it was the Brittleness of the turtle deck. When I get my lexan hatch, I'm just going to break the glass and transfer the deck over to the new hatch.

Enthuzed is correct, there should be a post somewhere here that I've commented on.
The key is patience, thin hacksaw blades (to cut through the original glue), a paint scrapper & some small wedges to keep it lifted off the glass as you go.
Good Luck.

I recall Dave saying some thing about a solvent that melts the glue?
I had a look on here but I couldn't find anything.
The rear wiper has been removed and I want to fill in the hole and paint it. Much easier to take a small fiberglass hatch then the complete hatch to the paint shop!!!

I'd be taking the complete hatch, much less work !

I've taken one apart, You have to make a couple of tools that slide between the glass and the garnish to cut the glue.

Its the only way to remove or install a factory spoiler using the bolts, as you cant get to em otherwise.

It look bloody ages, and was really hard going. I've got another one to do. When I get some time I'm going to make a couple of much nicer re-usable tools with stops on them so you know when they're in the right depth. Won't be for a few months though.

That glue is bloody tough stuff.

I think it says piano wire somewhere, feed it through and saw through the glue.
