Hi guys,

Just wondering if anybody knows of any Starion parts/components are interchangeable other Mitsubishi vehicles, ie Scorpion, Cordia, L300 etc?

I'm interested in knowing what things (if any) like the water pump, oil pump, electrics, drivetrain components and other bits can be scrounged from other vehicles.

The VR4 engine just bolts straight in.

Supra gearboxes attach straight up.

Pajero differential parts just slot straight in.

LanEvo pistons fit cleanly.

disclaimer. All the above are *possible* with modification.

Anyway, most Starion stuff is Starion stuff. Scorpion diff stuff fits. So does Lancer 2000 parts, including gearbox and diff (and of course, engine).

But for the sake of simplicity, you can consider that nothing else fits the starion. Even currently Mitsubishi badges don't fit without difficulty.

But if you're talking mods, then you can get creative... Just add $$$

David.

Some Sigma interior panels and buttons fit. (Late luxury model sigma console and electric windows buttons are the same as Starion).

I did it the other way around.

I put Starion seats in my galant 1983 (sigma in australia). I also fitted the car with a complete suspension kit from Tokico and a sway bar set of suspension techniques from a starion. All the parts (also the seats) fitted excatly without any modification. The tokico´s are very good and also the swaybars are a big improvement in cornering.

went to ge a water pump and the one from a galant 86 fits. but there was also a Starion one so there is no need to change.

I got a Cylinder head out of a 2.0 N/A spacewagon and it was a easy swap for my cracked cylinder head
Just the combustion chambers are a bit different. but it runs fine.

Xentro,

That wasn't a Starwagon, was it (or is that what the beast is called in North America) ? From memory, the Starwagon has a 4G63S2 engine.

we should start a list of compatible parts , it should come handy when
we need to fix something..

Yep, I agree 150%. Maybe the list of compatible parts should become a fixture in the 'Technical' section of Austarion.com, or a sticky post in the forum?

Two categories should suffice:

- Direct replacement parts (no disclaimers!)
- Parts requiring modification
