JB map sensor

Car was running badly, checked the map sensor to find the hose had come away with half the nozzle stuck inside it.
Some questions:
Being that the nozzle part is so stupidly fragile, what's the best way to repair that section?
Can a JA sensor be used with a change to the plug?
How can one test a sensor works properly other than trial & error?
Has anyone ever pulled apart a JB one and repaired it?
