%#&% plug wont come apart!!

can someone tell me how to pull apart this plug? I've been trying for the last hour with multi-grips, but it wont budge. I've even ripped half the plastic off.

dont you just push in on the little tabs? or maybe pull them out.

As above, they have little tabs on the side. Push them in or jam a small screwdriver in there then pull it apart. It also has an o-ring (I think) so just pull a little harder.

the tabs aren't the problem, i've tried and tried pushing them, i eventually just cut the plastic around them so they aren't effective anymore. The plug is still stuck firmly in place though. It's like the o-ring has melted and sealed inside.

I guess the only thing is to keep trying

edit: i hammered my precision screwdriver all around the edge of the bottom part of the plug, and eventually it came free.
