I wanna get them tomorrow but forgot what shockers were made in aus readily available to buy (otherwise i'd go for the tokico).
Was it just gabriel and mornoes? which ones would be better to get? i don't have much time to research as i need to get my car back on the road by wednesday night so i'm gonna rely on opinion for this one :P

decoy,
the Gabriel's are on the OZ price list but the distributor has never imported any, see my previous posts somewhere. I don't think anybody has anything on the shelf. You can special order Koni's no problem (even though they are no longer in the Koni catalogue), they are good but expensive but I guess you get what you pay for.
The rear Gabriel's are pretty cheap on ebay in the US, the fronts are bloody cheap.
I have used Lancer fronts in the back but the rebound is way wrong I was not happy at all. I would say most strut's setup for the front will not work well in the back. The rebound valving is the problem.

I think Monroe make something and also try Pedders if you're looking at off the shelf stuff.
As Mark said, Konis are the go but pricey.
Good luck - bouncy bounce bounce!!!

See what anybody lists for Sigma.
And you'll need to mod the strut if it's not already.

thanks guys, munroe and pedders have nothing in their catalog for staz :( gab does tho. if only it wasn't an implules while the rear was apart i woulda imported some tokicos.
what modding is needed to the strut? is that just if i chose a sigma one? or for installing any new shock?

decoy,
you have to cut the top off it and weld on some threaded tube to make it the same screw-off style as the front. I actually cut the top off a Lancer front strut and welded that on the Starion tube. Can't take a picture because all my spare stuff is at Noltec for the big coil-over upgrade.

I need to get rear shocks too... anyone have an idea as to how much they cost? I wanna get Konis but what are these tokico ones?? My rears are wayyy too bouncy and weak for the K-max springs that r in there.

i think to get koni to mod them was 1k ish.
rang EVERYWHERE today, the only place that lists shocks are gabriel and kyb. the kyb ones were front only inserts and no longer abailable. gabriel lists front and rear ones, but are no longer available, and i found out tonight that the reason why is because the rear ones don't actually fit into a starion :( poor junkie. they have a bracket on the bottom instead of a flange with 2 bolts like the starion does.
so yeh, the ONLY option is to mod them to fit different inserts like mrb1 said, or import the tokico ones from the US.
there goes my impulse buy
