last problem... Velnas display

Finaly sorted out all my other electrical problems and one left...

sometimes my velnas display doesnt show anything, :-( , fixing one problem seems to cause another :-)

I've seen the VELNAS have problems with cold solder joints. Check the circuit boards and resolder as necessary.

Yep, dry joints are affected by temperature.

Could be the flexible cable playing up again. I took the VELNAS apart to resolder it some years ago. Details are here:

Ive got a question.
How does one get the clock working with out the Trip computer pluged in? My car (gold one) is a GSR 3 but I removed the trip computer bits. And I can't swap the clock unit for a non Valnas one as the plugs are different

The previous owner of the car I had chucked out the stereo and VELNAS unit. I had to hunt for a while to get another VELNAS unit to make the clock go. Only way I could see to do it. I don't know how the clock units work on other models, but I guess you'd have to find the correct wiring from that to the VELNAS display unit and make up an adapter.

All the clock needs is ground, +12V constant and +12V when ACC is on. You could easily grab those power sources from the stereo wiring loom no doubt.
