i have a 84 l200 with a 4g63 in it. what motors from what cars will bolt straight in.
after searching this site a fair bit ive concluded

the starion will bolt straight in
and i saw someone mentioned a vr4 twincam will bolt in

is this true?

anyother motors that will work?

lol its BUR75 from the gemini forum!

measure your bellhousing pattern mate, if it's a narrowblock pattern then a dohc swap is easier, but still not easy. wideblock pattern = starion motor or starion block dohc head.

what measurements determine narrow or wide block?

if it is narrow block what cars can i source the twin cam from?

ps the current motor threw a big end this morning so everything will be coming out tomorrow.

yep spot on. ignore the 2.0 and 2.6 written on there though, it varies.

all fwd and 4wd cars had the narrow block, wide and narrow were used on rwd's depending what car/motor combo it was..

brilliant. so if i have the narrow block gearbox. i can bolt up an evo engine etc. i doubt ill get an evo engine but a twincam with twin side draught carbs would be pretty mean.

Too bad I'm not doing my conversion yet. I would sell you my 2.6 cheap. Good luck with your decision.

Those spacings are for 4g52 and 4g54 motors

4g63 use the same spacings. Hence wide or narrow

I have had that gearbox siting in my garage since 2002. I was told that the km132 was a weak box, so since I turbo'd my wagon I thought I had better chase up a spare. The origonal box hasnt missed a beat :?
