Twincam running temperature ?;

just got my twincam going and seems to be running a little hot , ive got the vr4 gauge sensor wired to the factory gauge and it reads just over half way , ive gone out and brought a aftermarket one so i can get a much clearer indication . Wat sort of temperature do they usually run happy at ?

both mine run at around 80 c
but thats the microtech hand controller reading.
i have yet to hook up to the dash gauge the sensor is there but i haved wired it up (as i am lazy) :D
but saying that i dont know what temperature a stock vr4 runs?

probably a difference in the vr4 and starion sender...

yea mine runs around 80 degc on a aftermarket gauge
theres very little chance the vr4 sender will work accurately with the starion gauge

couldnt you use the starion sender inside the vr4 manifold?

yeah ive got mine wired to a vr4 sender , a mate of mine measured it with a multi meter and there is a difference . so around 80 deg ,. ive got an 82 thermostat in it at the moment , what do u guys run ?

is it that on more short distance trips the car will never heat up to the correct operating temperature?!

yea the water is always circulating so it doesnt have time to sit in the block to actually warm up before being released into the rad
some track cars run no thermostat as they get warmed up and then the shit thrashed out of them non stop till the end of the race
on a road car i think it does more harm than good
if you cant keep your car cool with a thermostat in it then your cooling system is inadequite
