Alot of chatter about compression test results recently, im interested to see what other people are getting, i did a basic tune up the other day and took to oppertunity to do a compression test:
1:160psi
2:160psi
3:150psi
4:155psi
it seemed a little high to me, but the engine is completly factory from what i can tell, i dont think its ever been apart.

Geez.. that requires pulling spark plugs out and stuff.. :) If I get time, i'll do it.
You want to know what too high is - my Sigma's compression was about 220 psi.. haha.

Did mine about 12 months ago, got 120 +=2 psi on each cylinder.. I thought that was what it should be..

I forget the order but from memory
110 125 135 125
I think thats what it is, Ive nicknamed my 135 cylinder's piston, 'big boy', although I should probably call it 'lazy' since it has the least ring wear.
My mechanic said it should be around 180, but 120 isn't bad considering age. Although Im pissed off because the entire car has only done, and its documented as doing so, 139,500Km.

Whats worse, I got the car on 138900Km a year ago
Shows you just how much its been on the road, compared to off the road

Compression results will vary depending on the compression test tool you use. The volume of the test tool itself will affect the compression values that are obtained.
A compression test should be used to find out if the compression in each cylinder is the same.. and if values vary by more than 10% between cylinders then you have a problem.

Score, i'll look elsewhere as to why my car runs like a bag of day old shit then :D.
