I think it is the aftermarket EMS computer the Yanks use on their 2.6 engines

find a dyno tuner near you that you want to use and then get the aftermarket computer they recommend :)

For those who don't know, it's a kit ECU, as custom as it gets. IF I remember correctly you have to make your own printed circuit board and buy the components and put it all together yourself.
I've checked out a motorsport mate's car that had one fitted.
Guaranteed to have lots of "learning experiences" going this way, and whilst the megasquirt forum has lots of information, you'll be troubleshooting this and replacing components inside it yourself. Pretty full on exercise which will gobble up all your spare time...
I considered this a while back, looked at the costs to build it, then the box and the additional bits you need to run it, then looked at who would know how to tune it (pretty much a DIY process as well). I figured it was also a good idea to have a second one built that could be swapped in - and at that point for me I pulled the pin on the whole idea.
You'll learn a lot and if you've got time to tinker with it it'll be quite fine but I just want to know that it'll work - I couldn't be stuffed with trying to fix it nor get it to work if it didn't.

If a good aftermarket one plays up you can swap it under warranty. And the costs are not that far apart when all said and done...
