Just take out the PS parts and replace the steering box with a non PS steeringbox.
Should be easy enough.. if you can source the correct steeringbox.
Downside.. heavier steering, especially if you use wide tires.
Pro's:
May be better for steering feeling.
Slight power increase(doubt it if you can notice)
Weight reduction
less hoses & pipes to clutter up your engine bay.
Personally I like the PS.. ever had the pump fail on me and it was like driving a truck.

I had to push the car into the drive and do a few back forths to get it aligned. Without power steering, this car is a nightmare.
Having no PS does give better communication, esp understeer, but found it much better to drive with PS.

Just did it last weekend and its pretty straightforward. Blofly did a tech article on the conversion and I followed that (thanks JJH for the link).Use a 78 or 79 Scorpion box and steering shaft. Do a search and you will find it. The steering isnt too heavy and the engine bay is uncluttered. The hardest part was getting 'Satan the stuck pitman arm' off the old box.
Whats the issue, if its a ps box you are after I have 2 for sale atm.

Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.

the reasion i ask is two fold
1 my power stear box or pump is failing
2 the whole weight reduction thing.
a mate did it with a civic just ran a closed loop on the existing power stear box and said it was way better feeling and high speed responce etc. Since the Starship is beign build mostly for the track how much do i need power stear?

lack of power steering really only a problem for parking i find.. i don't remember feeling much of a difference in driving when my power steering died.. just that parking is a bitch.. can no longer park with one hand :o
but other than that, it hasn't actually been a problem during driving.. which is probably why i've had the working power steer pump, new lines and another reservoir sitting around for over half a year and never bothered putting the parts in..
then again, my car has been sitting on my driveway in a non-working condition for the past 2 months and i haven't bothered LOL
mind you i have 205 tyes on stock jb rims.. so wider tyres = more trouble without power steer at low speed
