My Starion is starting to get the problem where trying to start the car sometimes results in clicking the key multiple times to engage the starter.

I know this can be fixed with a relay installed. Anyone got a diagram on where and how to install one. I dont want to be left at servo in the middle of no where clicking my key over and over.

Thanks

Brendan,
could be a worn ring gear on the flywheel. The ring gear will only used in 2 sections of the ring gear. They will be approx. 180 degrees out, the rest of the ring does not get used. You can sweat the ring gear off and move it around so a new portion gets used.

Works like any normal realy, the wire from the starter goes to the coil side of the relay, other side goes to ground. 12V to switched side of the relay then to the terminal on the starter solenoid.

Gives you a clean 12V source to the starter solenoid instead of possibly lower voltage from the normal starting circuit.

Fairly easy to wire up.
