do JB's need a cat converter?

do JBs need a cat converter to get over the pits? or is it just JDs?

Any car built during 1986 or after needs a cat-converter. All these cars specify that you must run unleaded fuel.

JB's were built upto 1985 and are specified to run on leaded fuel.. so a cat-converter is not required.

i thought all unleaded cars were supposed to?

could be different state to state as well tho

If the car has a restrictor in the fuel filler fitted from the factory you need to run a cat. As Cookie said, unleaded was introduced around the beginning of 86. Anything built after Jan 1 1986 had to have a cat (I think). There is probably a bit of leeway here and there depending on what cars dealers had in stock etc.

would a cat stop the puff of black smoke i sometimes get when i start my car? or is it because i have to add to much gas with my foot and flooded it..
