sometimes on almost random occasion,
a rattle comes from behind the dash central area

its a 2-4 second rattle at fast pace like a cobra rattle,


its damn annoying, any ideaS?

Could be a cobra.

I was going to say that but we don't get snakes in NZ.....
Could be a little mexican with a pair of maraca's?

Could be anything, my starion has a few ghost noises and I just gave up trying to sort them and just live with it now...

Not a shifter rattle? Or maybe a sign of future gearbox problems.

pull the stereo and centre console out if u get the chance and check its nothing behind there rattling. If it really pisses u off and ya want to pull the dash out give me a yell as il give ya a hand if ya havnt done it before, my dash in the blue car has been in and out more times than ive had hot dinners

Turn the radio up.

Do you have the fan or aircon on when its rattling?

turns out it was a cobra,

poor barstard been livin on my ciggerette butts from the ashtray,

its okay, i threw him into the bush and he silthered off gracefuly (supprising considering he had spent over a year in my dash)
