what type of motor oil do you use?
my car apparently now is running (running on to the ground!) thicker oil.. the previous owner said he wanted to use thicker oil to try to presreve the engine.. is it ok to use the specified oil on an engine this old?
just a quick post on which oil you use would be fine.. cheers!
motor oil for my JB
most previous owners want to preserve the engine with thicker oil when they are selling the car so that compression is acceptable and leaks slow down, then when you get it home and think its hunky dorey you go and change the oil to a nice expensive synthetic and then watch as your motor starts blowing smoke and you start noticing a few leaks until your car decides that the oil wants to be everywhere but in the engine......
Hehe oohh touched a nerve, as this happend to me :(
Anyways all is good now :)

When the JB released in 1985 I don't synth oil was as popular as it is now, but 20-50w should be fine...
