Oil Pressure...

I was wondering whats to much oil pressure, my car sometimes decides to tell me that the oil pressure is at the high marker on the guage. Mainly after a flogging. Any suggestions? I thought maybe a blockage in a oil line? but with oil pressure that high and it now flowing properly something would give. But nope, not one oil leak. Also it doesnt have to much oil in it, the oil doesnt move it sits about 2 mm below the full. Seriously when it happens the car runs same as always, when i stop at idle for awhile the oil pressure drops right off like it normally does but sometimes once the rev's get up a little its a big high, if not stuck on high.
Anyone got any suggestions for something i should try?

Could be a bad sender unit.. could be a sticking oil pressure relief valve.
Get a mechanical oil pressure gauge on there and see what is actually happening.

where's the easiest/most accurate place to plumb in a mechanical oil pressure gauge?

The same place the sender for the electrical gauge goes would be easiest.

That screws directly into a cast fitting on the bottom of the filter housing dosent it? Im trying to remember, cant find a photo of it... Is there anywhere easy to tap a fitting into so you could run both? Just to be difficult :P

Thanks i shall get me a mechanical oil pressure guage. Hmmm, Hopefully one that matches my boost guage. Isn't there a plug screwed into anothing hole near the sender? Is it possible to remove this and screw a fitting into there?

Don't permanently mount a mechanical oil pressure gauge in the cockpit. If the gauge or the oil line lets you go you'll find yourself covered in hot oil. Plus I don't think it's legal anyway.
Just temporarily fit a mechanical gauge for diagnostic purposes to ensure your factory gauge is reading the right thing.

For people who are rebuilding engines may i suggest REMOVE THE FUCKING BALANCE SHAFTS!!!!!!!
After spending time and money rebuilding the engine in my car but not removing the balance shafts. But stupidly not replacing the bearing's. A shell as worn, and slipped and blocking the oil line increasing the oil pressure, i also discovered today its started knocking. So no more driving the fucking piece of shit till i can pull the engine out, rip the sump off all the front off pull the fucking balance shafts out replace the bearings and put it all back together
I JUST FUCKING LOVE STARIONS!
