No airflow meter ?
No airflow meter ?
anyone here know exactly how it effects the engine running with no af meter?
wat effects?
long term?
gains losses?
power increase?
no guessing please, thanks

Well I think that my car doesent have AFM, or it is not working.
The car is running ok, and I only feel when I dirving and my rpm goes about 3500 a feel a little hit, like engine just wake up, and then it goes fine.
On idle it is working below 1000 rpm, about 800 i think.
A previous owner told me that AFM wasn good so he remove it.

If you have a good working air flow sensor then the car will run better with it installed ie. more power, more economical, better driveability.
If your air flow sensor isn't working well or at all then your car will run better without it. Another advantage of removing the air flow sensor is that you are removing a large restriction in the intake.
My car always used to idle better with the air flow sensor disconnected but it had a hesitation on acceleration.
The airflow sensor is meant to be the main source of info to the ecu on how much fuel to inject.

how rich??.. well if you have no need to remove it.. don't .. i disconnected mine on a hunch that my afm was stuffed and it was but with a multipoint swap not too far away ( still LOL ) i'm not bothered with putting another one on.
in the right conditions with throttle play i can throw flames but it BURNS up the hip pocket at the bowser so i putt around off boost as much as i can.
again don't remove it if you don't have to.

thank you all

No .the airflow meter is inside the air filter and it measures the amount of air going thru it and sends a signal to the computer which decides how much fuel to inject into the enginebeetleman wrote:So it is better to have AFM? Where can i buy it?

A JA model 1982 to 1984 won't run without a AFM. But a JB model onwards will run without a AFM. The JB ECU uses it's fuel maps and TPS to guess the tuning to get you home.
As stated above it will run better and in tune with a AFM.
As for finding one, you will have to raid another car.
Cheers.

My JD wouldnt run over idle without the AFM connected.
As soon as the throttle opened it would die.
My JA runs fantastic without a AFM. O wait. its MPI LOL
