Confusion is a by-product of the aging process. One just seems to go hand in hand I found.

I have adjusted to it now and have adopted the "WTF" approach and just move on to the next issue in my life (and get confused again at that point).

I am attending "dealing with confusion classes" every Wednesday night if you want to tag along. The only problem is I am confused as to what time they start and have missed a few.

Give Dr Kelf a call he knows the venue (some nursing home on the northside I think) and can help as well. Ron is the teacher.

IM an OLD FART we dont get confused, now whitch door did i use to get in here?

Huh? can I come to the class too? I'm a bit confused about the class, does it involve drinking beer? Or do we all sit in a circle and wonder how we got here? :D

afaik the only starion to have 200hp is the dash intercooled version. and the dash engines were tweaked up to 350hp and used in the group B rally starions.

confusion classes

Like most threads this one is wandering around a bit hey "WTF"

Chefman.. Nup we sit around in a circle and drink beer and wonder how we're going to get home

Power figures - agree with VR4 - who really believes quoted power figures - getting it down on the ground is the thing. Yep the tv commentators like to enhance the facts from time to time

Dash power - Stariontron. Like you i thought the Dash motor was always thought to have a bit more power in standard form and the UK did do a bit of work on them from all that I can find out but what the true outcome is I dont know.
Never argue with an idiot, it brings you down to their level and they beat you with experience.

i thought this thread was to do with the difference between imports and aus starions eg:starquests have 5 stud wheels and we have four is this true
All the widebodies have the 5 stud wheels, but i beleive all narrowbodies are 4stud the world over. I even think the americans got late model narrowbodies.?.

This is what ive garnered from seeing a crap load of different starions both online and in real life.

Narrowbody starions were made up until production of the starion ended in 1989. (possibly 1990, see below)
[EDIT] Some conjecture on this point, but im faily certain ive seen a 1988 narrowbody online, but who believes what they read on this damn interweb thing anyhow? [/EDIT]

All 8v narrowbodies were 4 stud, up until late 86, when they were changed to 5 stud.

ALL 12 valve dash starions are 5 stud, and intercooled. even the ones from 1983.
[EDIT] Possibly false [/EDIT]

All widebodies are 5 stud. production started in 1986 and ended in 1989, there are some reports of early 1990 models, but ive never seen anything reliable.

There are 2 types of injection for the 8v, the ECI cover one, the the "Type B" injection, with the T-Bar fuel rail, a-la cordia. I have never seen a non-intercooled starion with the "Type B" injection. I have seen factory intercooled starions with the ECI cover however.
[EDIT] Australian JB starions are non-intercooled with the "Type-B" injection [/EDIT]

An intercooler was an option on all japanese starions from the beginning, and every intercooled jap import starion ive seen has had a red rocker cover, and ever non-intercooled version has had a black rocker cover.

All non-intercooled jap imports i have seen have the small TC05-12A, all intercooled 8v jap imports have had a bigger turbo, but still casted as a TC05-12a (see my avatar, thats my old one).

Power is whatever you want it to be, coz i sure as hell wont believe any numbers you spit at me :P.

I thought narrow bodies ceased production in 1987.

Australian delivered JB starions had "type B' injection with no intercooler

trevor's starion has a factory dash motor and has 4 stud wheels not 5.. Tony's car originally had a dash engine too, and also has 4 stud wheels.

Are you sure their factory dash cars? Ive seen an 84 Dash that was 5 stud... But that was also registered as a conquest and had conquest badging on it.

this one has information about the 12 valve setup on a plaque stamped into the underside of the bonnet, and no markings or holes left behind by removal of a map sensor, so im pretty sure its the real deal.
