thats a nice BOV setup Abalistic, for those out there running a fairly standard setup with intercooler, you could do a LOT worse than copy his setup. that setup would make a good tech file subject.

I could suggest that using a factory BOV from a skyline, or VR4 (same item), in plumbback config ofcourse would be easy aswell, and very very cheap! Very professional setup there tho.

I have pretty much the same setup on my galant. Bov sitting on a little extension of the cooler pipe plumbed back into the accordian hose. Except mine is using some gfb hybrid that is atmo and plumb back, suposidly to prevent the computer getting the wrong readings and making it run rich.

Is also the stock setup on an RVR (hence why it was used in my car as the accordian hose already had the hole in it). That black bov in the pic even looks like the stock RVR one, could be an evo3 bov?

Is a very neat setup, if i ever got defected i could probably just wack in an evo3 bov and it would look stock.

Bosch Bov

Post by Abalistic »

It's a Bosch BOV, about $50, made of hard ABS plastic. Easy to fit, and being light weight, has a fantastic quick response time.
And lets face it the engine does not know the difference between a nice shiny chrome one and the one it has now.
I think if I could get black hose clips, it would almost look factory.

Yes, that is correct. I found that if it is installed one direction, the boost pressure trys to lift the valve off it's seat. If it is turned around the boost pressure holds the valve down on it's seat and seals harder and harder as the boost rises.
