yea i saw that page while looking on pojectzerog
so on a 4g63 you run that sensor line then have a main line going to the top of the radiator wouldnt u? just have a small sensor line off it while the majority goes to the radiator
so these pipes are going to the right places here? just trying to make sure i hook everything up right, excuse my terrible paint skills

I used the Factory housing and mounted it next to the throttle body. There is a hose going from under the thermostat back to the return pipe that goes to the water pump. That way the water circulates right to the back of the thermostat.
In this pic you can see the pipe going along the manifold and the return pipe can be seen coming out the back of the housing. This is a factory return, I just swaped the hose fitting and the temp sensor around, same hole size.
You can see here how the temp sensor and return hose fitting was.
And this is a cut down Starion hose.
Please note that I havent started this set up yet, but I see no resign why it wont work as well as the factory set up.

so obvioulsy that return line is on the hot side of the thermostat?
just doin the same job as the one in the ae82 or the same as putting holes in it providing a bit of flow so the hot water can reach the thermostat rather than having stagnate water
cheer might also look into this way was well, how is the thermostat sitting there?just supported by the pipe or have you bolted it into something
and i take it its a factory vr4 thermostat housing?

Its a factory VR4 housing and its bolted to the pipe that goes along the manifold. That pipe is then bolted to the manifold.
This away of setup would be great if you were using a EVO4 up inlet as there is more room between the plenum and the head.

For my DOHC swap, I used this kit:

To reverse the flow through the head I tapped the two front coolant holes and put in a set screw. I drilled two small holes in the set screws for some flow. I also opened up the rear two coolant holes. Now coolant flows from the back of the head to the front, hopefully this will not leave any hot spots. Details of what needs to be done are on projectzerg in the first link.

have been on that site and seen what is going on
but not keen on doing those modifications at the moment, no proven results that it works effectively and others seemed to have problems when doing it, i know the factory cooling path works so happy to leave it that way, may change to that way if i need a rebuild tho

Its two chev thermostat housings bolted together with a chev thermostat in between. The -8 fitting is for water circulation and you can see the sender units in the other pipe.

This system worked 100% :beer
And as I said Im going to sell the manifold, throttle body and thermostat setup if someone wants it.
