Marc, no loss of bottom end at all.. ONLY GAINS!

and it ran the 3 inch firstly without an intercooler, then i fitted a complete stock widebody/JD starion type setup. i ran 14psi with the exhaust only (had already fitted a VL turbo fuel pump tho) and 16 psi with intercooler and more timing. now running 20 psi with a 2.4 head and VR4 pistons. did 13.9 et with an open diff too. but LSD is obviously better.

Can you over spool your turbo with a 3" system?

Word of warning.. some people (me included) have experienced boost control problems after fitting a 3" downpipe and exhaust. Your boost levels may creep up and over your normal boost setting in the upper rev ranges due to the free flowing exhaust system and the turbo's small wastegate not being able to expel enough exhaust gases.

I would definitely recommend a 3" exhaust. That fact that a 3" exhaust introduces this problem is proof of how much better it will flow than a 2.5" system. However I would make sure that the dump pipe has a seperate wastegate pipe that reconnects with the main exhaust further down the exhaust system. Also anticipate having to enlarge the turbo's wastegate if you still experience boost control problems.

Ihave the very 3" dump pipe that Cookie reccomendes 4 sale.
It was made by Exotic Exhaust and is less than 5000k old it is black ceramic coated in & out and fits a TC06 PH ME IF INTERESTED 0409729177
PS Only reason its 4 sale is it wont fit the GT30R now fitted .
Cheers 2 all
