I just have two 12 valve heads, one disassembled, one assembled and a spare 8V head. All my cars are actually running 8 valves. I've got a spare block and these heads, so plan is to make a nice solid engine, and then fit it in to something.

Cheers for that :) I'll have a look tomorrow, chances are there will be at least 1 or maybe 2 solenoids, if not, thats going to suck.

Ok so I finally went out, had a look, and took some photos.

I've never seen a working DASH head with the rocker cover off. So I'm not sure what is missing. If you guys could have a look and explain the solenoid, and if there is anything missing that would be fantastic. :D

Also wondering where the wires should be, and where they go etc

That is crazy, your solenoid is missing! Where did it go??

It should be off to the side of the thing that you named the solenoid.

Here is a picture: http://ab.cordiapower.com/images/head2.jpg

You can't really make out anything because of how insanely dirty it is, but the thing to the left of the picture is the solenoid. I'll try find a better picture.

Ah bloody hell. I did kind of get that feeling when I looked at it that something was wrong. Thanks heaps for the photograph, I can see exactly what is missing.

I bought the two heads second hand, well 1 complete head, the spare head turned up as a freebie - neither have solenoids and I checked the bag of cams/rockers that came with it too.

Might just abort mission and sell the heads. Try and recover costs. Feels kind of like I'm pushing shit up hill with this.

Wise decision. The 8V is so much easier to work with.

That would have to be the understatement of the year. LOL

The DASH head is good but...... parts, MPI setup and all the gizmos that go with it are just a PITA to deal with.

A well sorted 8 valve yields the returns so much easier.

Don't think you need the solenoids, that's why they are missing.
All the valves will run with the solenoid de-energized.

Yeah but the only reason I was interested in the DASH head, was the idea of running crazy cam duration for the larger valves and moving the switchover point higher in the rev range. So I can have a beefy cam without the idle problems. Not having a solenoid kind of defeats the purpose :(

But anywho, they've been sold already. Get picked up today.
