Question number 1..

Post by Cam »

Ok i been meaning to post this for ages but i just keep forgetting and im lazy.
Does anyone know what could be causing the following things

Rough idle,
Pinging for a little when put your foot down.
I thought timing, its all been checked, im thinking maybe a boost leak but i dont know where the hell it could be leaking from.
Any suggestions, help is very apreciated.
I should fix it before i ping my way through another set or pistons

Sounds like you are lean for some reason. Needs a wideband on it to check the mixtures. As to why, well how long is a piece of string?

Twice the length of the centre to one end.
Apart from that I have nothing really useful to offer.

Are you sure that the distibutor is al ok, ie not advancing far too much at a certain vacuum?

Wouldn't a boost leak make it run rich? (ie. less air for the amount of fuel)

Check for cracks etc in the inlet accordion pipe.
Check under the turbo inlet.
Make sure the vac advance is working and not jammed up.
