No Headlights
No Headlights
My headlights are not working again. If I flick to high beams they are fine. Except that they are on High Beam. I have had this issue before, but it has fixed itself within minutes, this has been three days.
I've pulled apart the indicator stick area (Well not completely, but enough to have a look) and I'm not to sure if the problem lies there. All other lights work, my dash etc.
Can someone offer some advice please? :D :beer

Yeah, try swapping the relays over to see if lights work. There might be a faulty one.
Also, I had a similar problem with pressing too many buttons/switches too quickly. I turned everything off and
started again by pressing everything on firmly and slowly. Maybe try this first!

I had a problem on mine whereby the low beam disappeared completely, high beam was fine. Turned out to be a relay mounted on a bracket on the passenger side strut tower. There were two seperate relays, one switched low beam the other switched high beam.
I tapped the relay with a screwdriver which made the lights come on which proved it, I then drilled the relay apart and cleaned the contacts which were quite burnt!

If that's the case, they're not factory - the real ones must have broken and been replaced by these.kiwi_EX wrote:Turned out to be a relay mounted on a bracket on the passenger side strut tower. There were two seperate relays, one switched low beam the other switched high beam.

My Headlights wont work in low beam either now!, tell me, is there a relay for both high and low beam or is it just the 1 marked headlamps?, swaped the stork wth another off my parts car, just hoping that stalk aint f..ked as well.
R.I.P. Here's a pic of my relays, the two silver ones, the left one switched low beam and the right one switched high beam. When my low beam vanished I traced the fault to the LH relay (I tapped the relay with the head of a scewdriver and the lights came on), as you can see I drilled it open, cleaned the contacts with an emery file, and cable tied it back together again. These relays are definetely factory installed and not aftermarket, bear in mind thou my Starion is a late model EX with factory front bumper spot lamps so might be different to earlier models.

na, just age and the amount of current they are switching.kushman wrote: i have the same relays in the same posituin as kiwi_EX maybe a comon prob with the nz Euros?
Prove the relay is at fault by tapping it when the lights don't come back on. If the relay is at fault, open it by carefully drilling the indentations on either side, once open carefully clean and bunish the contacts with very fine sand paper, once done hold it together again with a cable tie.
